CNKI

CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, 中国知网) is a key national research and information publishing institution in China, led by Tsinghua University, and supported by PRC Ministry of Education, PRC Ministry of Science, Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China and PRC General Administration of Press and Publication.

The WE Library has purchased the full access of CNKI database for our employees. The employees can browse and download resources with their login details.

The National Library Reference and Consultation Alliance

The National Library Reference and Consultation Alliance is a non-profit service institution, which was established under the guidance of the National Center for the National Cultural Information Resource Sharing Project and co-established by the public libraries of China, educational, and scientific and technological systems. Based on the rich information resources of the Internet and various informative search engines, it provides free online reference consultation and remote document delivery services for the public. The platform has the largest Chinese digital resource library in China, including 1.2 million e-books , more than 40 million journal papers, 3 million doctoral and master papers, 300,000 conference papers, 5 million foreign language journal papers, 70,000 national and industrial standard documents, 860,000 patent specifications, and national public libraries the large-scale local document database and characteristic resource database provide various services such as document consultation and document delivery.

Shanghai Library Professional Portal

The professional portal of the Shanghai Library can search and access nearly 200 well-known databases at home and abroad, it can recommend journals and articles based on current popular topics, and develop corresponding special databases. After applying for a membership at the Shanghai Library, you can log in to the portal remotely to use the majority of the resources.

This platform is a digital resource platform that was independently developed by China National Books Import and Export (Group) Corporation. The aggregated digital resources cover many disciplines such as natural sciences, STM, humanities and social sciences; it currently contains a large number of Chinese and foreign digital resources, more than publications from 700 domestic and foreign high-quality publishers and integrators. By ticking the "Free Resources" option, about 1.61 million documents can be visited and accessed.

Baidu Xueshu Searching Engine

Introduction: Baidu Xueshu Search Engine is an academic resource search platform under Baidu that provides massive Chinese and English literature retrieval, covering various academic journals and conference papers. It is aiming to provide domestic and foreign scholars with the best scientific research experience. Baidu Xueshu Search can retrieve paid and unpaid academic papers, and improve the accuracy of retrieval through detailed indicators such as the rang of time, title, keywords, abstract, author, publication, document type, and number of citations. In addition, users can also publish their ideas on the Baidu academic page, participate in discussions, and conduct document mutual assistance with others.

National Center for Ohilosophy and Social Sciences Documentation

The platform is guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, led by the Academy of Social Sciences, cooperated with the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and other relevant ministries and committees, all the parties participated in a joint construction and management. The library of the Academy of Social Sciences carries out the specific work, and it is included. There are 2,109 Chinese periodicals and 8090 foreign periodicals. The full text can be browsed and downloaded for free after registration and login.

GoOA

GoOA launched in 2014, funded by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and run by National Science Library, CAS.

National Science Library of CAS starts the “open access journals integrated service system project (GoOA)”as a precursor aiming to explore the method on discovery, selection, evaluation, conservation, and recycling construction of OA resources, providing a one-stop platform for the OA journal articles discovery.

Project Gutenberg

Project Gutenberg (PG) is a volunteer effort to digitize and archive cultural works, as well as to "encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks."It was founded in 1971 by American writer Michael S. Hart and is the oldest digital library.Most of the items in its collection are the full texts of books in the public domain. The Project tries to make these as free as possible, in long-lasting, open formats that can be used on almost any computer. As of 20 May 2020, Project Gutenberg had reached 62,108 items in its collection of free eBooks.
