Located in the northeast corner of the World Expo Museum, the WE Library covers a construction area of 1,600 square meters from the first to the third floor with a designed collection of 100,000 volumes. The functional zones of the WE Library have comprehensively met diverse requirements of visitors and professional readers.
The Reading and Activity Area is located on the first floor. This zone has materials deposited and shared by BIE, WEM publications, books related to exhibitions and activities held in the WEM, and large books and books relevant to the culture in the regions south of the Yangtze River, Shanghai culture, and revolutionary culture. A 90–square meter Lecture Room for holding various reader activities is also on the first floor.
Lecture Rooml
The Thematic Reading Area is located on the second floor. Open stack books in the Expo Collection Zone, Museology Collection Zone, and Comprehensive Collection Zone are available to all readers. E-Desks are set up for readers to get access to Expo-related digital resources. The Quiet Study Area and Discussion Rooms are used on-demand. An Independent Research Room is available to professional readers and visiting scholars.
